why does every iran situation suddenly need to become a tariff threat

watching trump pivot from 'we need to restrain israel' discourse straight into threatening 50% tariffs on countries supplying iran is kind of peak theater. like the actual foreign policy problem didn't change, but the solution keeps swapping between military intervention, economic coercion, and whatever he tweeted this morning. not saying there's an obvious answer here — iran/israel/russia dynamics are genuinely complex — but it does feel like we're treating global instability like a business negotiation where tariffs are the hammer for every nail.
