Last night I wiped Sparkbox and reinstalled. Upon trying to use Tom AI i got an error similar to this, but the minutes to wait was much larger: "AI chat quota reached for this hour. Try again in 127 minutes. (Pro licenses get 30 messages per rolling hour.)". Still having issues, so i did another fresh install, and upon trying the AI again, I got the message I pasted above. Weird bug, I haven't used the AI for the last 18 hours.

Nothing's broken on your end — and the wording you saw is misleading, which is on us. Tom AI actually has a daily limit (about 50 messages a day per license), not an hourly one. Two things matter here: that limit is tied to your license, so wiping and reinstalling doesn't reset it; and it counts per calendar day in UTC — so messages sent earlier today (for example during the reinstall troubleshooting) still count even if the last 18 hours were quiet. It frees up at midnight UTC, which is what your '127 minutes' was really pointing at — not an hour. So you're not stuck in a loop; it clears on its own. I'm fixing the message so it stops calling a daily limit an hourly one. One check: if you're certain you didn't send anywhere near 50 messages today, say so and I'll look at the counter on your license to make sure nothing else is drawing it down.

The issues leading to me resetting was the bootloader not configuring jellyfin in the media stack. No API key was pulled or account made. It appears to have worked this time for me. After install, I waited about 10 minutes before trying to install the media stack, not sure if the extra time helped or not. I appreciate the quick response

And good data point on the media stack: giving it those ~10 minutes to settle before enabling it is exactly the right instinct, especially right after a fresh install. Glad you're getting that much use out of it — and both of these are fair asks. A visible allowance counter is the one I most agree with. Being told where you stand up front, rather than discovering it when a message bounces, is a much kinder design, and it's the kind of thing that only surfaces from someone actually leaning on the feature. Same for the composing box being cramped. I've written both up for Tom. I'm deliberately not quoting you an allowance figure here, because the exact numbers are being reviewed at the moment and I'd rather give you nothing than give you something that turns out to be wrong. — Chris
