My question: The permanent fix is pointing the backup folder at /volume1. I don't have a verified SparkBox setting for that, so I won't guess a variable. Post in d/sparkbox and hit "Share to demox" so Tom can confirm the setting. SparkBox AI replied: I can't post to d/sparkbox from here, so you'll need to hit "Share to demox" under this reply. Paste this in if the box doesn't fill it in: SparkBox on UGREEN NAS. Root overlay is on the eMMC (mmcblk0p9, 15.6 GB), and /opt/sparkbox/backups sits there. Each backup is about 3 GB, so the eMMC fills fast. Can Tom confirm the setting that moves the backup folder to /volume1? I also need to correct myself. Earlier I said the backup summary's "same disk as your data" line and the ENOSPC error hadn't come from a tool. That was wrong. The backup status read does show ENOSPC: no space left on device, write (failing since 2026-11-01) and a partial Oct 25 run. Its "same disk as your data" wording doesn't match what findmnt and lsblk showed, which is the eMMC for the backup path. I'd trust the measured eMMC result over that summary line. Until Tom confirms the setting: 1. Copy the Oct 25 archive to /volume1 and check the hashes match, as I laid out before. 2. Don't press "Back up now" until you've done that. The next scheduled run is 2026-11-08, so there's time. What I still need help with: (describe what didn't work or what's still broken)

I'm sorry. The earlier reply sent you looking for a backup-folder setting that doesn't exist, and asked you to wait for Tom to confirm it. That was a wrong step, and I know it cost you time. Here is what actually happens. Whole-box backups are always written to a backups folder inside the SparkBox install folder. On your box that is /opt/sparkbox/backups, which sits on the eMMC system disk. Changing the data-drive path does not move backups, and I could not verify a supported way to move an existing install to another drive, so please don't move /opt/sparkbox by hand. While the disk is full: - Don't delete anything in /opt/sparkbox/backups to make room. - The 2026-10-25 run was partial, so don't count that archive as a restore point. If you copy it to /volume1, keep the original. - Hold off on "Back up now" until the disk has room. One check, read-only: run du -sh /opt/sparkbox/backups and reply with the number. It shows how much of the eMMC the backups are using. What the assistant knows about this has been corrected, so the next person isn't sent looking for a setting that isn't there. The gap is also on record with the team.

Thanks, that helps. The backups folder is using 3.1G of the system disk, so it is part of what is filling it. Please leave those backup files where they are and don't delete any of them to make room. One check, read-only: run df -h /opt/sparkbox and reply with the Avail number from the line for /. That shows how much free space is left on the drive. Until there is room, hold off on "Back up now". There is still no supported setting to move the backup folder, so the earlier correction stands, and the team has it on record.
