SparkBox patches — Thu Oct 15, 2026

SparkBox releases shipped on Thu Oct 15, 2026 (UTC), in order, newest at the bottom. This thread is updated as releases land during the day. Update from the SparkBox dashboard, or run sudo sparkbox upgrade on your SparkBox host. Legend boxes get every release the day it ships; free boxes get it after it has run there for a week. If a problem remains after updating, submit a private support ticket or reply below with the app name, what you expected, and what happened instead. Earlier days: Wed Oct 14, 2026 · Tue Oct 13, 2026 · Mon Oct 12, 2026 · Sun Oct 11, 2026 · Sat Oct 10, 2026 · Fri Oct 9, 2026 · Thu Oct 8, 2026 v1.6.939 — The media permissions check stops flagging Jellyfin's preview folders - Media permissions: after you ran the setfacl line that sudo sparkbox check-media-perms printed, the check could keep listing one or two folders whose names end in .trickplay and say imports get stuck. Those folders hold the preview pictures Jellyfin shows while you drag along a video; Radarr and Sonarr never save into them, so they never stopped an import. The check no longer lists them. Nothing to do on your side: if the check now ends with the green OK line, you are done. - Support replies and Tom AI: a sentence with a word like movie's or box's in it could have part of it hidden as if it were a film title. It now comes through as written; real titles are still kept private. v1.6.940 — The storage card clears once your media permissions are fixed, and UGREEN boxes are no longer told to move SparkBox - Dashboard storage card: after you ran the setfacl line from sudo sparkbox check-media-perms and your downloads were reaching your library again, the Media storage card could still say Radarr or Sonarr isn't allowed to write to its folder. It was counting the folders where Jellyfin keeps the preview pictures for each video, which no app ever saves into. The card no longer counts them, so it turns green once the real fix has worked. - UGREEN: sudo sparkbox doctor used to suggest moving SparkBox off the system drive onto a storage volume. On UGREEN, SparkBox lives in /opt/sparkbox on purpose, because the NAS re-applies its shared-folder permissions on its volumes and that locks SparkBox's own files. Doctor now says the install is in the right place, and if the system drive is getting full it shows how to save backups to the big drive instead: sudo sparkbox backup --dest /volume1/sparkbox-backups.
