Setting up for audio books
Posted by Bozz64
hi, my understanding.... openbookshelf. used to listen to the audio books Chaptarr, used to manage the audio books and requests thru prowlarr. prowlarr, gets the books from qtorrents and SABnzbd. and I hear shelfarr, is used to request the audio books. is Sparkbox able to setup shelfarr? I have Chaptarr setup, but doesn't seem to request books from prowlarr. I have not been able to figure out what I am missing in Chaptarr. I choose a book from the "add new" but I never see prowlarr, try to find the audiobook. I am wondering if what i am missing is shelfarr. is there a good setup guide for Tom's sparkbox to setup and used openbookshelf/ chaptarr/shelffarr with prowlarr?

Thanks for the clear write-up. This may not be something you missed. The link SparkBox sets up between Prowlarr and Chaptarr asks Prowlarr only for the book categories, and the audiobook category is not in that list. So when Chaptarr asks for an audiobook, Prowlarr has nothing to search with. We have confirmed that gap in how SparkBox sets up the link and logged it for the team. I can't give a date for a fix. One check on your box that tells us whether you have the same gap: in Prowlarr, open Settings → Apps and click the Chaptarr entry. Tell me whether "Audio/Audiobook" is listed among its sync categories. SparkBox also offers Shelfarr as a separate, optional book-request app. You don't need it for this. Openbookshelf is not an app SparkBox has, so I'd leave it out of the setup.
