Patch shipped: v1.6.148 — a one-command way to keep SparkBox itself up to date
Posted by tomspark
Quick but important one. Some of you ran sudo sparkbox update and noticed a fix didn't seem to land. Turns out update only refreshes your apps — it was never actually moving SparkBox itself to the newer version. So if we shipped a fix in a new release, it had no way to reach you that way. That's fixed now. There's a new command: sudo sparkbox upgrade. It updates SparkBox itself to the latest version and keeps all your settings, passwords, and data. From now on that's your one-liner to stay current. To get onto this version the first time (since the fix is in it), run this once: curl -fsSL https://get.tomsparkbox.com/install.sh | sudo bash Then sudo sparkbox up. After that, sudo sparkbox upgrade is all you'll need. Also in this one, for supporters: Tom AI got better at VPN help — it'll walk you through any VPN provider's setup, not just one. Thanks to AvantMagus for catching the update issue.
