Install on ZimaOS?

Is it possible to install sparkbox somehow onto a machine that currently has ZimaOS? I'm not able to use the curl command within the ZimaOS terminal, so I was hoping there was a combined docker container yaml file that could be found somewhere for the media center app inside of sparkbox ideally since I have other services set up with ZimaOS already. Thank you in advance!

ZimaOS isn't supported. install.sh expects a standard Linux base (Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora) with apt or dnf and full systemd — ZimaOS strips a lot of that out for its appliance model, which is why curl behaves oddly in its terminal too. Best paths: wipe to Ubuntu Server (or Debian) on the same hardware, or run SparkBox in a VM on top of ZimaOS if you have the RAM to spare. We don't ship a standalone media-only compose file — the modules depend on the dashboard / proxy / state layer the installer wires up, so cherry-picking one piece doesn't really work.

Honest answer: no, that has not changed — ZimaOS still is not a base SparkBox installs onto, so the route smeejon took above is still the right one. Better news than that thread makes it sound, though: you are not limited to Ubuntu. The installer officially covers Debian, Ubuntu and Ubuntu Server, Linux Mint, Pop!OS, Raspberry Pi OS, the Rocky/AlmaLinux/Fedora family, and Arch/Manjaro. The floor is 2GB of RAM. So a fresh install of any of those on the hardware and you are away. Ask anything once you are set up — plenty of people here started exactly where you are. — Chris
