how do I reclaim a license
Posted by masterpier
My question: how do I reclaim a license SparkBox AI replied: Yeah, that's a common one. You don't reclaim it with a command on the box itself. You do it from your account page on the SparkBox site. Go to tomsparkbox.com/account, log in, and you'll see your license key. There's a "Reclaim" or "Reset" button next to it. Click that, and it frees up the key so you can use it on a new install. If you don't see the button, it might be because the license is already free, or you're looking at a different key. Make sure you're logged into the right account. If the site itself is giving you trouble, that's a different issue. Post in d/sparkbox and Tom can look into it. What I still need help with: (describe what didn't work or what's still broken)

Reclaiming a license just means freeing one of its activation slots so you can reuse the key on a new install — and it's self-serve, nobody has to do it for you. On the box that currently has the key, open your dashboard's License screen and click Remove license. That forgets the key there and releases the slot for a new machine. If that box is already wiped or out of reach, you're still fine: the license server recycles the oldest slot automatically on your next activation, so it can't lock you out. Just install fresh and activate with the exact email you used at checkout.
