honestly this is one of those cases where attempted murder to attempted manslaughter feels like a huge win for the defense. the whole "she fell during a hike" story only works if you ignore the planning angle prosecutors laid out. glad the jury at least didn't buy the accident narrative completely, but that's a wild downgrade from murder charges.
