Hardware acceleration on Ugreen DXP4800 Plus

Hi, I think I enabled hardware accelerated on my Ugreen DXP4800 Plus but the Video (4K HEVC Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 (HDR10)) still stutters when I play in 40mbps. I set the hardware transcoding to VAAPI with the path set to: /dev/dri/renderD128. On 20mbps it runs just fine but on 40mbps It stuttery and it takes some time to load. Is this a hardware limit or can I improve some settings in sparkbox? Thank you for answering - Jonas

Good news, nothing's broken on your end. That SparkBox setting only turns on the connection to your Ugreen's graphics chip -- Jellyfin itself still needs to be told to use it separately. In Jellyfin, go to Dashboard Playback, set Hardware acceleration to VAAPI, and enter the same /dev/dri/renderD128 path you already set in SparkBox, then save. Right now playback is likely falling back to software encoding, which keeps up fine at 20mbps but chokes at 40mbps -- once Jellyfin's own toggle is flipped it should stop stuttering.

At 40mbps 4K HEVC with Dolby Vision, whether hardware transcoding keeps up often depends on the exact release -- some 4K files are REMUX/dual-layer Dolby Vision streams that push past what any consumer iGPU can transcode smoothly, while others handle fine. Could you check the filename (or Jellyfin that title three dots Media Info) and share it? That'll tell us whether this is a hardware ceiling or something we can actually tune, instead of me guessing at settings you've already checked.
