Five patches today — what I went after and why
Posted by tomspark
Big patch day. I went through the open reports and telemetry this morning, picked the things hurting real people, and directed fixes for all of them. All five are live now: - Seerr sign-in lockout — a Legend got fully locked out of Seerr last night (it signs you in through Jellyfin, and its saved connection can break after an IP change or an unlucky restart). I dug into his exact case and SparkBox now detects and repairs that connection on its own. If this ever hit you, it fixes itself on your next update. - VPN country typos — typing a country your VPN provider does not recognize used to save silently and then take the whole download stack down. Now it checks the name before saving and suggests the closest match. - sparkbox doctor got sharper — it now catches apps stuck in a crash-and-restart loop and shows you WHY, instead of saying everything is fine. - Pi-hole vs your NAS — on some NAS models the built-in DNS hogs port 53 and Pi-hole could never start. It now works around that automatically. - Low-memory warning — turning on a heavy app (like Immich) on a box that is tight on RAM now warns you up front instead of letting it struggle in silence. Every one of these came from your reports and the anonymous health signal — keep them coming, I read everything. Update from your dashboard or with: sudo sparkbox update This is the stability push I am running through the summer. More coming.
