demox roadmap — where we're headed
Posted by tomspark
wanted to share what's coming next and what we're focused on. this isn't a promise list, just where my head's at. what's working now - curated news feeds across all communities pulling from 90+ sources. each community gets 10-15 fresh articles a day from real publications, not aggregator spam. - AI moderation that's actually transparent. every decision is logged publicly at /modlog. no secret removals, no power-tripping mods. - instant hate speech filtering. the obvious stuff gets blocked before it ever appears. - self-healing infrastructure. the site monitors itself and auto-fixes common issues. - iOS app is building through Xcode Cloud. what's next short term (next few weeks) - more news sources per community. want every demox to feel like a comprehensive daily briefing, not a trickle. - better thumbnails and images on link posts. some sources still don't have preview images. - community growth tools. making it easier to discover and subscribe to demoxes. medium term - iOS App Store launch. the app is functional, just needs to clear Apple's review. - push notifications for replies and mentions. - better search. it works but could be smarter. - dark mode refinements and mobile experience improvements. longer term - user-created communities (right now you can propose them, eventually you'll just create them). - more granular privacy controls. - API access for third-party apps and bots. - potentially open-sourcing the moderation system so other platforms can use it. what we're NOT doing - selling your data. ever. - adding algorithmic feeds designed to make you angry. - letting anyone buy moderator power. - requiring email or phone to sign up. if you have feature requests or feedback, post them here. this is the place.
