Issue with logging in after Sparkbox update

After Sparkbox update: "Your password is correct, but this box could not save the login session. On the host run: sudo sparkbox restart - then try again." This is the network every SparkBox app runs on, including the reverse proxy — so anything that fetches from the internet (certificates, metadata, indexers, updates) will fail. It also stops the reverse proxy (sb-npm) finishing its startup: NPM downloads an IP-range list from Amazon the moment it boots, and with no way out that download never answers, so it waits there forever. The container stays 'Up (unhealthy)' and its log ends mid-line at 'Fetching IP Ranges from online services'. Nothing is wrong with NPM; fix egress below and it finishes booting. Testing which layer is blocked (this takes up to a minute)... Layer test: a container could not even open a TCP connection to the origin's RAW IP (no DNS involved). So this is NOT container DNS, and it is not UFW's forward policy either if that already reads ACCEPT — something below Docker is dropping outbound packets from container addresses. Check, in this order: a host firewall other than UFW (firewalld, nftables rules, a NAS appliance firewall), then whether this box's router or ISP blocks outbound 443 from unrecognised addresses. Meanwhile 'sudo sparkbox upgrade' still updates over SSH. Re-run 'sparkbox doctor' to verify. [WARN] Docker's default bridge cannot reach tomsparkbox.com. What this breaks: the dashboard's one-click Update button. It downloads from inside a helper container on that bridge, so it fails with 'Could not resolve host: get.tomsparkbox.com'. Optional Pro-tier license activation won't work either. Updating over SSH still works — that downloads on the host: sudo sparkbox upgrade Same layer as the apps' network above — same fix. I’m sorry—the restart suggestion sent you into a restart while the system volume was already full. Your output shows No space left on device and failed container recreations, so the restart did not finish; the full disk is also the likely reason the login session could not be saved. Please don’t retry restarts or delete/prune anything yet. As one safe next check, look in your NAS’s storage overview and tell me how much free space remains on the system volume containing /opt; your doctor output reports 0 GB there. The separate media volume still shows ample free space, so we should focus on the system volume and preserve your files.

Not sure how to check that but I'm guessing there is no free space in the system volume. Genuinely not sure how it filled up since my external drive should be getting everything, but I think I'll blame pinchflat because my system volume never had space issues until I started using pinchflat and downloading thumbnails, closed captions, etc. Right now I am locked out of even logging into Sparkbox and can only ssh into the system via cmd. I feel like I'm soft locked and being told to not prune or delete while also being told I can't log in without deleting and freeing up space?

You're right, and I'm sorry. Telling you to wait without giving you a way out left you stuck. Here is the way out, and it doesn't touch your videos or your settings. Your hunch about Pinchflat is probably right. Your videos do go to the external drive, but every time Pinchflat checks a channel or downloads a video it also writes a small working file inside its own app container, and it never cleans those up. App containers live on the system disk, so over weeks those files can fill it. Your restart output points the same way: Docker itself could not write to its folder on the system disk. 1. Check how much room Pinchflat's container is using (this only reads): sudo docker ps -s --filter name=sb-pinchflat --format '{{.Size}}' The first number is the space its own files take. 2. If that number is in the GB range, run: sudo sparkbox down pinchflat This stops Pinchflat and removes only its container, which also removes those working files. Your Pinchflat settings and subscriptions (in /opt/sparkbox/modules/pinchflat/config) and your downloaded videos (on /mnt/expansion, in youtube/) are kept. Then df -h /opt/sparkbox should show free space again, and you should be able to sign in to the dashboard. If the number in step 1 is small, don't run step 2. Instead, send me the output of sudo du -xh -d2 /opt | sort -h | tail -n 15 (this also only reads) and we'll see what is actually taking the space. We're also changing SparkBox so that Pinchflat keeps those working files on your media drive instead, and so that a full disk can no longer lock you out of the dashboard. Until that update reaches you, Pinchflat will slowly fill the disk again if you turn it back on (sudo sparkbox up pinchflat).
