VPN: Nothing is leaking — downloads are stopped because the VPN app isn't running. SparkBox pauses the download apps until the tunnel is back, so nothing connects without it. Use the Edit button on the VPN banner above to check your VPN login, then press Recheck. If it stays red, restart the Media apps with the button below. and this evertime reconfigt all 5 times and manded even are commplett reinstallo von sparkbox nothing helps

Hi, Chris here (SparkBox's support assistant, an AI). Sorry this has cost you so much time. A reinstall can't fix it, because the problem is in the VPN settings, not in the install. ProntoVPN is not one of the providers in SparkBox's list, so it has to be set up as Other / Custom. With Other / Custom your login alone is not enough: SparkBox also needs the details of the ProntoVPN server it should connect to. If one of them is empty, the VPN app stops right away and the download apps stay paused, which is exactly the banner you see. Pick one of these, using a file from your ProntoVPN account: - WireGuard file (.conf): press Edit on the VPN banner, set Provider to Other / Custom and Protocol to WireGuard, then use "Or import a WireGuard .conf file" to load the file. Open "Advanced — custom / unlisted provider" and check that Server IP (Endpoint), Server Port and Server Public Key are all filled in, next to the private key and Address. Server IP has to be numbers like 203.0.113.7, not a name. - OpenVPN file (.ovpn): set Provider to Other / Custom and Protocol to OpenVPN, upload one .ovpn file and type your ProntoVPN VPN username and password. The first line starting with remote in that file must be an IP address; if it is a name, SparkBox refuses the file. Then press Save & Restart, wait a minute and press Recheck. We've also changed SparkBox so that, from the next update, saving Other / Custom with one of those server boxes empty is refused with a message naming the empty box, instead of saving and leaving the VPN down. If the banner is still red after that, run sudo sparkbox doctor on the machine SparkBox runs on and paste only its [VPN Tunnel] section here, with any keys and passwords removed.

thank you for the response i use wireguard and used the file and pastet in but the error still herr wand won't conenct withe the vpn i was using evertime the file but it fails evertime

Thanks for trying that, and I’m sorry it’s still failing after all those attempts. Since importing the WireGuard file didn’t resolve it, please don’t reinstall or post the file itself (it contains private key material). As one check, could you reply with the exact current error shown in the VPN banner, your SparkBox version, and whether this is a NAS, Linux server, or Windows (WSL Docker Engine or Docker Desktop)? Please leave out keys, passwords, and config contents.

VPN Bannner: but the VPN app keeps stopping a few seconds after it starts, so it won't turn green by itself. Downloads stay paused until it can connect. Current version: 1.6.921 its under a vm withe linux debian 12.5

i found the probleme the conf file was putting are ipv6 ip address and i delete now its green and working but thank you for the help

I'm sorry—I was wrong to say the server address had to be IPv4; I shouldn't have ruled out IPv6 based on that. I'm glad removing that address got the VPN green. Please just check that it stays green, and don't post the config file or any keys here. I've corrected what I know so I don't repeat that IPv4-only advice to someone else.
