I've never used SEER, but just watched Tom's latest video regarding the heart icon and SEER requests and am very intrigued. I don't know how to tick this on unless I start the Sparkbox installation over, I don't believe. https://youtu.be/jZZhnYEpxJM?si=40JmepshlN090oWa&t=165 How do I get the heart icon to send requests?

You should not need to reinstall SparkBox for this. The heart request button is part of the Jellyfin–Seerr integration, rather than an option in the SparkBox installer. I couldn't verify the current plugin setup steps, so I don't want to guess at a menu or send you down the wrong path. Could you share the Jellyfin and Seerr versions you're running? Then I can point you to the right instructions.

Following up on my earlier reply, sorry for the vague first answer. I checked, and you don't need a reinstall, a plugin, or any version numbers from you. The heart button from Tom's video is a built-in SparkBox option called Discover & Request. It's off by default and you can switch it on at any time, on SparkBox 1.6.821 or newer, with Jellyfin as your media server. From the classic dashboard: open App Store, find the Media Center card, and under Included services you'll see Discover & Request marked Optional · Off with an Enable button. Click it, then say yes when it offers to restart the media apps. They're unavailable for a minute or two, and downloads carry on by themselves afterwards. Or from a terminal on the box (works whichever dashboard you use): sudo sparkbox set-env DISCOVERREQUESTSENABLED true then sudo sparkbox restart media After that, a Discover & Request library appears in Jellyfin with posters of popular movies and shows you don't have yet. Tap the heart on one in any Jellyfin app (TV, phone or web) and within about two minutes it goes to Seerr as a request and downloads like any other request. Pressing Play on one of those posters only shows a short card explaining how to request it. One thing to know before you turn it on: those requests are approved automatically, so anyone with a Jellyfin account on your server can start a download with a heart. Switching the option off removes the library and its posters again. If the library hasn't shown up a few minutes after the restart, reply with what sudo sparkbox version prints and I'll take it from there.

Jellyfin 12.1 SERR - the version that came with Sparkbox. Not sure how to tell. My Sparkbox says SEER is healthy Right now, It's hanging up even when logging into SEER, and then timesout. sb-seerr is healthy

Thanks, that helps: Jellyfin is 12.1, and Seerr is timing out. A healthy container status only tells us Seerr is running; it doesn't confirm its sign-in is working. To narrow this down, could you reply with (1) the platform SparkBox is running on (Windows with WSL Docker Engine, Docker Desktop, NAS, or Linux), (2) the SparkBox version shown on your dashboard, and (3) whether Seerr times out while the page is opening or only after you submit the login? If you can see Seerr's version, include that too; no logs or passwords needed.

Am I supposed to have SSL turned on or off on the SEERR setup page? It's still timing out.
Chris wrote:
If you mean the Use SSL option in Seerr's Jellyfin connection setup, leave it off for SparkBox's internal Jellyfin connection. That setting will not fix Seerr itself timing out, though. Does the Seerr page open and then hang only after you submit the setup, or does it time out before the page loads?

I am on the latest build and on the classic desktop. There is no toggle for this on the apps page. The only option on the media center tile is to uninstall it.

Sorry—the Apps-page instruction I gave you was wrong for the Classic dashboard. In Classic, the switch is in Settings → Server Config → Media Center settings, named Request from inside Jellyfin (Discover & Request); the Media Center tile itself only offers uninstall. When you enable it, requests made with the heart are automatically approved, so anyone with a Jellyfin account can start a download that way. Please check that Server Config setting; if it is missing there too, reply with the SparkBox version shown on your dashboard. I’ve corrected what I know about where this switch lives so I don’t send the next person to the wrong page.

Following up on the timeout itself, because the SSL answer alone won't fix it. On Seerr's setup page, it usually hangs and then times out because of the Jellyfin address. If you typed your box's network address (something like 192.168.x.x), Seerr often can't reach Jellyfin that way, because it runs inside its own container. Nothing comes back, so the button just spins until the browser gives up. Your username and password are not the problem. Fill in the Jellyfin step like this: - Hostname/address box: sb-jellyfin-media (just that name, with no http:// in front) - Port: 8096 - Use SSL: off - Then the username and password you sign in to Jellyfin with as its admin sb-jellyfin-media is Jellyfin's name inside SparkBox's own network. SparkBox uses that same address when it connects Seerr itself, and it doesn't change when your router gives the box a new IP. If it still hangs with exactly those settings, tell me whether you get an error message or it just keeps spinning.
