The popup is reporting that no password has been captured yet, but its text alone doesn't tell us why. Could you reply with the SparkBox version and whether this is Windows with WSL Docker Engine, Docker Desktop, or a NAS? Please don't post logs or credentials publicly.

Thanks, that confirms you’re on a NAS with SparkBox 1.6.839. The message only establishes that the dashboard hasn’t captured a Frigate password; it doesn’t tell us why, and I can’t verify the quoted AI diagnosis from the information here. Please check whether Frigate itself opens and asks you to create an account, or whether it shows an error instead. Don’t share a password or logs publicly.

Thanks, that helps. Frigate is showing an account-setup screen, while SparkBox's popup says it hasn't captured credentials; those are different signals, and I can't confirm from this alone that the popup will update if you create an account there. Is this a fresh Frigate install, or was Frigate previously set up on this box? Please don't post any password or account details.

Thanks for sticking with this, and sorry for the runaround. We found the cause, and SparkBox 1.6.841 (out now) fixes it. Frigate makes its admin password only once, the very first time it starts, and shows it in its log just that one time. If Frigate was recreated after that (by an update, or by turning it off and on again), the dashboard had nothing left to read, so that window kept waiting. Its note about the Media module was wrong; it has nothing to do with Frigate. One correction to my last message too: the page you are seeing is Frigate's normal sign-in page, not a place to create an account. To get a password that works, run these two on the box: sudo sparkbox upgrade sudo sparkbox frigate-password The second one restarts Frigate once, prints a new admin password and saves it, so the dashboard shows it when you open Frigate and under Settings → Passwords. Your cameras and recordings are not touched. Then sign in to Frigate with username admin and that password. If it says Frigate did not print a new password, wait a minute, run sudo sparkbox logs frigate, and tell us whether you see a line with Password in it (please don't paste the password itself). The assistant's notes on this have been corrected, so the next person with this gets the right answer straight away.
