Monday check-in. What did you self-host this week? This week's prompt: what got you into self-hosting in the first place? A bill, a breach, a hobby, a friend? Small wins welcome. "I finally set up the reverse proxy" is a perfectly good answer, and so is "nothing, it just ran". Reply below rather than starting a new post.

Thanks for the support mate! We have so many problems here i'm like the dog trying to put out the fires on the meme. But seeing someone have success, and get things working, is amazing. <3

Thanks to your AI agent "CHRIS" I was able to move my Sabnzdb incomplete downloads from spinning disk to SSD - this has removed the massive bottleneck when unpacking or repairing files which was causing my download speeds to drop significantly. Another win - using the new custom apps I was able to add Mousehole, a Seedbox IP Updater for MAM and keep it linked to the "container:sb-gluetun" network.

I reinstalled Sparkbox on a 13 year old desktop machine. It was running fine on MX Linux, but I wanted it to run faster and efficiently. Originally wanted to see if it could run under Niri in CachyOS, but no dice. Ended up installing Sparkbox on a minimal Ubuntu Server base. Installed and tweaked it to my liking and I’m glad I’m a Legend and backed this project up because the new interface is gorgeous, there are more apps to play with (included one I requested) and I was able to troubleshoot some issues with the available resources. Great job! My one and only nitpick? No Jellyfin version 12. I can live with that for the moment. Also decided to install Project Nomad on parallel so I have offline resources available in case of emergency.

That is a great self-hosting week — glad the Ubuntu Server install is working well. One small correction on the Jellyfin nitpick: SparkBox's current Jellyfin image is version 12.1, so Jellyfin 12 is included in the current product definition. If your box still shows an older version, tell us the SparkBox release and the version shown in Jellyfin; that will distinguish an older SparkBox install from an app-update issue. Please leave Jellyfin's own updater off, since SparkBox manages that image.

And so is is! I stand corrected. Apologies. I’ll get to add my remote shares and get Jellyfin working then.

Awesome! I'm glad people are enjoying the new modularity I'm adding to Sparkbox. I want it not only to be easy to use customizable, but also expandable and useable!
