My question: i need to stop private internet access in the media setup so i can add surfshark. shouldnt be so difficult SparkBox AI replied: You don’t need to “stop PIA” separately. Selecting Surfshark replaces PIA. The media apps stay off until the new VPN connection is valid — that part is intentional. Do this only in the SparkBox dashboard: 1. Open Settings 2. Open VPN 3. Change the provider from PIA to Surfshark 4. Choose WireGuard 5. Enter your Surfshark WireGuard details. 6. Click Save 7. Use the dashboard’s Apply/Restart Media control if it appears. Don’t touch Docker Desktop. Don’t use WSL. Don’t delete PIA containers. If you select Surfshark, save, leave the page, and it shows PIA again when you return, that’s the actual problem: the dashboard isn’t saving the setting. Click Share to demox below with: “VPN provider reverts from PIA to Surfshark after Save.” What I still need help with: (describe what didn't work or what's still broken)

Saving the VPN configuration refreshes the Media stack so it uses the new provider. Please keep any VPN keys or passwords private—don't paste them here. If it still shows PIA after saving, reply with that result (without credentials) and I'll log it and our team is investigating.
