License Key: SB-PRO-05…PK5M............ Activations : 3 of 3 used I have a Homelab on my LAN. Diverse devices, NAS (Unraids) several mini pcs and som refurbished devices. I regularly format all and re-install OS´s and reinstall or try new systems, mostly Docker Container setup. I appear to have reached some limit after purchasing your license. I think that your Sparkbox is definitely the best but if I am limited I might have to stop using it. I always de-activate. Thank you David Norway

Hi David — thank you for the kind words and for backing SparkBox! This is a real rough edge, and its not your fault. Heres what happened: the thing that actually frees an activation is SparkBoxs uninstaller — it phones home to release the slot. When you format the whole OS (like you do across your homelab), that uninstaller never gets a chance to run, so the slot stays used even though it feels like you deactivated. Each fresh format quietly burned one, which is how you landed at 3 of 3. Going forward: run SparkBoxs uninstall/deactivate step BEFORE you wipe a machine and itll free the slot cleanly. For the ones already stuck, Ive flagged your case straight to Tom — he handles licensing and Im confident hell get your activations sorted so youre unblocked. A homelab tinkerer shouldnt get boxed in like this. Hang tight!

You haven't done anything wrong — with a homelab where you're regularly formatting and rebuilding, the activation counter can fall out of sync even when you're deactivating each time. Tom handles license seat resets personally, and I've flagged this to him now. He'll get your seats cleared. If it helps while you wait: in SparkBox Settings → License, do you still see a Deactivate button on any of the listed installs, or does it just show 3 of 3 with nothing to click? Either way you'll be unblocked soon.

Totally understand, David — and glad the uninstall tip helps going forward. Your case is flagged for a licensing review to get those 3 activations cleared and get you unblocked. It may take a little bit to process, but you won't be left stuck. Really appreciate your patience, and thanks again for backing the project. 🙏

Good news, David — your license has been reset. Youre back to 0 of 3 activations, so you can reinstall on your machines again straight away (you may need to restart SparkBox or re-check to see it refresh). Going forward, just run the uninstall/deactivate step before you wipe a box and the slot will free itself automatically. Thanks so much for your patience — enjoy!
