Zipped files/folder and Immich

Just TomAI that suggested this update to Sparkbox: Yeah that's exactly the right plan. Immich silently skipped the zips — they've been sitting there ignored. One thing to add: Before you unzip, make sure you have enough free space on the drive. Zips can expand 2-3× their compressed size for photos/videos, so check you've got headroom. The order I'd do it: 1. Install the RAM and SSD first 2. Reboot the NAS 3. Confirm UGOS sees the full 32GB 4. Then unzip the folders into the external library path 5. Then trigger a manual library scan in Immich (Administration → Jobs → Library → Scan All) Doing it after the RAM upgrade means Immich actually has the headroom to process the new files properly instead of struggling again. The NVMe SSD — just to set expectations, that'll help with read/write speeds and UGOS caching, but the RAM upgrade is the bigger win for Immich specifically. Both together though, that NAS is going to feel like a different machine. Solid plan. Hit "Share to demox" so Tom sees the zip thing too — might be worth Immich logging a warning when it encounters zips in a library folder rather than silently skipping them.

The reason the zips never showed: Immich only looks for loose photo and video files, so anything still zipped just gets passed over.
