Plex

It would be awesome if there were a Plex option available in the auto-install version. I understand you can mod the stack and put Plex in use. Jellyfin is an awesome program, but as you widen your reach and move away from tech people, Plex is much more popular, like it or not. I see Plex cited with tens of millions of users per month, and I understand it is available on many TVs and streaming devices. I don't want to argue about which server or system is better. It is like arguing that Samsung is better than Apple or that Apple is a pyramid system designed to enslave the masses. I don't believe any of that. I do believe the major cell phone companies, when they say a large share of active phones are Apple devices. Let's say it's only 40%. Does any one company have even close to 25%? Not so much. The point is, like Plex, it is widely used on more devices than any other similar service, making it unrealistic to ignore when you're trying to build automated stacks.

Fair point — Plex does have the bigger mainstream footprint, and I've logged the request. The honest trade-off: Plex needs a Plex account and phones home a bit, which cuts against SparkBox's whole 'your server, nobody watching' angle — that's why Jellyfin is the default. But a one-click Plex option for folks who want it is a reasonable ask and it's on the list. You can already add Plex to the stack by hand today — say the word and I'll point you at how.
