Your command is right — nothing wrong on your end. Our download server's bot protection challenged your machine's internet address, so instead of the install script it sent back a 'checking your browser' page, and bash choked on that. Easiest workaround: on your normal computer, open https://get.tomsparkbox.com/install.sh in a browser, save the file, copy it onto the server, then run sudo bash install.sh there. Or just try the same curl command again in an hour — these checks usually clear on their own. We're also tightening this on our end so the installer doesn't get challenged.

Ya I'm still getting the error. Just asking, are you ever going to try to fix the install like the proxmox ve helper scripts or do I have to keep trying to see if It ever works for me. In the meantime the reliable workaround: open https://get.tomsparkbox.com/install.sh in a regular browser on any computer, save the file to disk, copy it over to your server, then run sudo bash install.sh there. That sidesteps the check completely. Really sorry it's been dragging.

Quickest path for you right now: add that one user-agent line I sent earlier (paste it once), then run the install command again — it should pull straight through. Ok I think I found an issue if you want to hear. On my proxmox I install ubuntu 24.04 lxc and no matter what I did I still got an error getting the script. I then installed debian lxc and did what you tole me and it downloaded for me. Going to keep up with it and will let you know if I get it working. Again thank you for everything. I can't for the life of me figure out how to use a remote path to my synology. It's at 10.99.0.237. Thats where all my media files are. On the Synology: the key thing is that SparkBox doesn't mount anything itself. It reads a path your host has already mounted. So mount the Synology share on the box first (NFS or SMB from 10.99.0.237), make it permanent in /etc/fstab so it comes back after a reboot, and check it with df -h. Then set Media Root in Settings to that mount path and run sudo sparkbox up. Two traps worth knowing: the path can't contain a space, and if the mount isn't up at boot your downloads quietly land on the system disk instead. — Chris
