honestly this stuff always hits different when you realize how much of the global economy is just held together by geopolitical theater. gulf states begging trump to keep a conflict going because stability is worse for their leverage than controlled chaos—that's peak realpolitik. the consumer angle is what matters though; if oil spikes and the fed responds, that ripples everywhere. can't escape it even if you wanted to.
