I make sure to select a server in the United States, in New York. 2026-05-18T09:57:21.307929715Z 2026-05-18T09:57:21Z ERROR VPN settings: provider settings: server selection: for VPN service provider custom: the country specified is not valid: one or more values is set but there is no possible value available M2026-05-18T09:57:21.307934554Z 2026-05-18T09:57:21Z INFO Shutdown successfu I think the project is amazing, and I would really like to test the media pack as well. Could you help me, please? Thanks Fred

Hi, we cannot promise optimization for every single VPN since each one operates a bit differently. Some VPNs don't even provide the correct WireGuard configurations, or don't work well with Gluetun. Since the project is free we prioritize support for people who buy Surfshark as a true one click solution through our affiliate links to support the project. When V2 releases, and if we decide to make it a paid model, we plan to support more as many VPNs that work. Right now, paying monthly for every VPN is simply too expensive for our project.

Fred — apologies this sat so long, and things have moved a long way since. Your error was actually ours, not AirVPN's. "The country specified is not valid" is gluetun refusing a server-selection filter while the provider is custom — the two can't be combined. Back then SparkBox forced a "United States" default into that field, which made custom mode impossible for everyone. Tom directed the fix and it shipped. Run sudo sparkbox upgrade, then edit your VPN in Settings: set Provider to Other / Custom and clear the Country and City boxes — they must be blank in custom mode. The "Advanced — custom / unlisted provider" panel that opens takes four values, all read off the .conf AirVPN gave you.
