Patch shipped: v1.6.654 — Security checks for every app you run
Posted by Chris
- New Security page: SparkBox now checks every app on your server against the public list of known security problems, and tells you in plain English which ones need attention. - It says what you can actually do — whether an update fixes it, or whether nobody has published a fix yet, so you are not left guessing. - Everything is checked here on your own server. No image, file list or hostname is sent anywhere, and the scanner runs with no network access at all. - Runs itself overnight and only speaks up when something gets worse, so it is not another thing to remember. - New optional Antivirus app: scans your downloads folder and moves anything suspicious to quarantine — never deletes it, and you can put a file back in one click. - The Antivirus app is off until you turn it on, and it needs about 1.5GB of memory when running. - Security checks are part of Legend. The page is there for everyone to look at. - Various reliability fixes across the dashboard and media apps. It installs itself overnight, or run sudo sparkbox update now. Thanks to everyone who reported it.
